SHELLIE BOWLIN – Executive Director
Shellie is a graduate of South Caldwell High School, Guilford Technical Community College and Guilford College. She earned dual Bachelors Degrees in Psychology and Political Science, with a concentration in Organizational Communications. She has 20 years’ experience in services to children and families, as well as experience with nonprofit leadership. Prior to accepting the Executive Director position at Robin’s Nest, she was the Program Director for the Wilkes County CAC, SAFE Spot. She has been at Robin’s Nest since 2017. Shellie and her husband have 5 children 2 dogs and a cat.
JORDYN BRYANT – Administrative Assistant/Finance Manager
Jordyn is a graduate of South Caldwell High School and attended CCC&TI. She has over 17 years experience working with Caldwell County Schools working with special needs children, as well as working in the media center, guidance office and in finance. Jordyn is the proud mother of 2 adopted children.
APRIL JACOB – Medical Provider
April graduated from South Caldwell High School and Stanford University School of Medicine. She has 15 years of experience as a Physician Assistant. Prior to accepting a position at Robin’s Nest, she worked at Southfork Medical Park. She is the only Child Medical Evaluation Program (CMEP)-rostered medical provider in Caldwell County. She has worked with Robin’s Nest part time since 2014 and full time since 2018. April and her husband have 2 amazing girls.
MONICA SICILIA – Child and Family Advocate
Monica graduated from West Caldwell High School and Appalachian State University. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Social Work. During her studies, she interned at Robin’s Nest for a semester. After graduation, she worked at the Shelter Home of Caldwell County as a Bilingual Advocate and at Burke County Department of Social Services as a Case Manager.
ANGIE GRAGG – Community Education and Outreach Specialist
Angie graduated from St. Stevens High School in Hickory and CCC&TI, where she earned an Associates Degree in Radiography and General Education. She is currently completing a Bachelors in Degree Social Work. She has 11 years of experience working with children as a site coordinator with Communities in Schools, where she worked with at-risk youth on developing coping strategies, study skills, and more. She has extensive public speaking and education skills which translate to a wonderful experience for students of our various programs, including our own Robins to the Rescue©. She has been at Robin’s Nest since early 2019. Angie and her husband have 3 children and a dog and cat.
